Idea Summary: Based on recent rumors and developments, AMPL is likely to be listed for trading on several Centralized exchanges. In the spirit of Decentralized Finance, AMPL should be included in the newly proposed DeFi++ Index by PieDAO.
This instrument includes 13 large and small cap assets in the DeFi sector: COMP AAVE UNI LINK MKR SNX YFI UMA REN LRC BAL PNT MLN

Idea Implementation/Execution: A Pie-Improvement-Proposal (PIP) can be drafted on the PieDAO forum (https://forum.piedao.org/). Next, this PIP can be voted for or against on Aragon (https://client.aragon.org/#/piedao/).
Budget/Cost: Time and Effort associated with executing the above steps.
Idea Timeline: Up to a week.
I like this idea a lot. In fact, something along the lines of creating an “A Team” of individuals in the community who might be interested in helping to drive adoption of AMPL on platforms where governance is required, was something that we in the DAO leadership have discussed a bit internally.
My idea is to:
1. Create a “External Governance” group within the Hub. Then, people interested in helping to drive the uptake of AMPL on platforms that require governance would join that group and use it to plan activities.
2. Use the PieDAO proposal as a good test run for using the External Governance group to organize activity around preparing and posting a governance proposal.
3. After the PieDAO governance proposal is developed and submitted (and hopefully people in that group can help answer PieDAO community questions and objections) we can make the External Governance group a bit more formal.
What we would do is set aside a budget for 1-2 people to “staff” the External Governance group. These people (of a certain minimum community rank and holding the Educated Amplifier badge) would receive a small stipend to engage in regular governance vote planning, proposal development, monitoring and reporting back to the community about status (in collaboration with volunteers).
In order for the budget to be funded, it would need to be turned into an official idea, AmpleSense Progress Proposal and put up for a funding vote by the community. But if the PieDAO effort is successful (even at just getting a good proposal up and managing questions from the PieDAO community), I think it wouldn’t have a hard time passing.)
@jag: What do you think of this expansion of your idea? The first step would be to create the External Governance group and bring in people interested in helping with the PieDAO proposal.

Thanks. As an aside, the AmpleSense Progress Proposal is needed for anything the DAO would officially adopt or fund. But our voting infrastructure is not set up yet (it’s being worked on now).
The reason I suggested the group is that we can get other people interested in working on these external governance projects together in one space to plan and develop content, etc.
And, creating the group now and using it to organize development of the PieDAO proposal would give us a good sense of how this type of effort would work.
My suggestion would be to create the group (name it what you’d like), invite others you think would be interested in participating in this effort, and then go from there.
Also, as a hint having the group established is going to help with getting something more long-term funded, as we can point to that as a piece of infrastructure already in place to organize efforts.
Feel free to move ahead with the effort, but creating the governance group is something that would be a good first step. I can do what I can to drive people to the group who would be interested in helping out.

Done.
This move also has the added benefit of spreading the the kGeyser challenge and other upcoming community oriented endeavors to other platforms (like the PieDAO forum).

We need to draw on the views and responses of more people and increase community consensus

We now have a group focused on helping to guide and drive governance discussions here: https://forum.amplesense.io/groups/department-of-external-governance/
As a result this idea proposal will be closed.
A Department of External Governance sounds a bit like foreign affairs and policy; needless to say this would be very important in the age of DAOs.
@davoice321 Your response is packed with many helpful suggestions. I think we should move swiftly and see how this is received by the ASDAO community (APPs, “A Team,” “External Governance,” and the budget).
The PieDAO effort and AmpleSense Progress Proposals are not mutually exclusive, so let’s push this forward.
