Time in Crypto

As an icebreaker, how long have you been in crypto? What was the price of Bitcoin when you first bought, if you bought it?
I’ll start. I first found Bitcoin when it was under $1!!! I was trying to mine it on a laptop. I burnt the laptop out doing it. I never cashed in the bitcoin, because the pool wanted 33% of the bitcoin I had mined to release it… I only had 0.75BTC ???
I should have just bought the bloody coins!!!
Ironically at the time I thought I was late to the game ???
I lost touch for a while and eventually bought my first bitcoin in Sept 2015 at the princely price of £149.99 a coin!!! I didn’t have much money, so I’m not a millionaire, I’m still here like everyone else ?
Who’s next?

I first learned of btc and actually worked on a blockchain project back in 2014-15.
I looked at btc and even thought about buying it. Someone sent me a an email about using btc to buy something. I looked into it briefly and decided that putting something into a paper wallet was stupid. ?
After that in late 2016 a family member kept on sending us all messages about how we had to buy btc. I ignored those early messages, but he kept on sending them every time the price of btc went up.
I finally took the plunge in mid 2017 when btc was hitting highs everyday.
I remember the crazy feeling of making $1000s per day for doing absolutely nothing, and getting into all kinds of crypto craziness including the New Years Verge phantom launch of January 2018. ?
I’m still here :). When I found ampleforth I dismissed it at first, but remembered what happened to me when I ignored a promising crypto before. I took a closer look and when btc ogs started messaging me, I knew this was special. I could never have imagined being in this position today (helping to run a dao) back in 2017.
Now I’m deep in the rabbit hole after 4000 years in crypto, and wouldn’t have it any other way ?.

Great story. I love hearing people’s crypto journeys.
I remember the Verge pump. Every day from mid November to Christmas my bag was increasing hugely. By Christmas day I’d 35xd!!! It was wild.
Then the crash! XVG didn’t hit my target so I kept hodling. Eventually I cashed out at 12.5x Thankfully, as it’s cheaper now than when I first bought it!!!
Once crypto has you, there’s no going back.

First BTC purchase was in July 2017, but only to buy a handful of alt coins (POT, NXS, a couple others) on a “tip”. As those steadily climbed I became hooked into the crypto world and have found it impossible to get out. ?
Seeing my early results I bought more BTC over the next few months and traded all day every day. The problem was I was consistently rewarded for my mistakes as everything I bought went up, up, up. I actually thought I was a really successful trader…and then the calendar turned to 2018 and poof! When the dust settled my overall portfolio was still in the positive but nowhere near my inflated expectations. Spent the last couple years honing my trading skills in the few opportunities that I saw.
AMPL didn’t come across my eyes until mid-July when it was being discussed in one of the Discord channels I am in…I looked at it but didn’t understand much. Then it kept showing it’s face and I read the paper and joined the community and finally purchased some on July 30. Luckily my buy-in was much lower than if I would have made the same decision a few days prior…and I have learned I have very strong hands over the last few months. Looking forward to seeing the growth of the community and especially the MC of the coin! ?

Like you I was late to Ampl. I saw the tail end of the big pump and waited as the negative rebase took hold. Eventually I took the plunge on 21 August and have been hodling ever since.

AMPL is a great idea after BTC, ETH. But few people understand it. We are old but we still are early adopters

Hi,
i started to get involve in token/coin, when the e-gold was in use, but i lost a lot in those hyips venture. Worked to design my own multi-martingale bot, but got stuck in my too complex strategy to finish it with the coder i finded at that time. Then, i join one group on a particular forum, to create an over unit forex trading bot! At that time, with the devs involved, they built a monster, after many attemps, they grow a real account from 3000 to 400 000 in a matter of 4 weeks. But at the end we took a bad decision a get kick out of the market on the weekend gap by a market manipulation from the liquidity provider. 16 other broker did not display that move on there graph! We did not wanted to sue them, because money was a big issue, taking 3 years to recover 400k, is to long, if you have to unpocket 100 to 200k to get it. So that was the end for me in that adventure. Then i worked on road, ground. And finally hear from btc, when he hit 800$. i find cost to buy some was creasy. Time, past, Bad lock happen. Then i started to buy at 3000$ and the same year, btc hit 19750$.
i did find other gems, to make >1000% & still running them today. But, i want to start my own to change what i think is missing in all these crypto mining algorithm.
Am not ready to elaborate on it yet, because it is not essentially to make money that i will create it. But to share different kind of crypto money. I think Ample could be use with it as a system that can adapt any number of user my app could reach.😉
